FIA Orders Stricter Immigration Checks at Faisalabad Airport
Director Saqib Sultan inspected arrival and departure counters and asked staff to target trafficking while facilitating genuine passengers.

Faisalabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has ordered stricter scrutiny of travel documents and closer monitoring of human trafficking at Faisalabad International Airport. Director FIA Faisalabad Zone Saqib Sultan issued the instructions during a visit to the airport, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan.
Sultan inspected immigration counters in both departure and arrival areas and reviewed the immigration process, APP reported. He directed immigration officials to enhance document checks and maintain strong surveillance against human trafficking, while ensuring genuine passengers face no unnecessary inconvenience and receive maximum possible facilitation.
The FIA zone chief asked staff to keep the immigration process smooth and to extend all possible cooperation to travellers. The order came after his inspection of the airport's immigration facilities.
The APP report did not mention whether the inspection followed a specific complaint or incident, whether any arrests were made, or how many immigration staff work at the airport. The Faisalabad zone covers the airport, which handles domestic and some international flights.
No further details about additional staff deployments or specific measures were announced.
