Gul Ahmed approves 43.75-acre Nooriabad land purchase and 13.5MW energy projects

Gul Ahmed Textile Mills Limited has approved the purchase of five more plots totalling 43.75 acres at the Sindh Industrial Trading Estates (SITE) in Nooriabad, Jamshoro district, together with roughly 13.5 megawatts of wind and solar capacity backed by battery storage. The listed company disclosed the decisions in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Monday.

The board cleared the acquisitions at a meeting on October 24, 2026, according to the notice. The plots are B-80A at 12 acres, B-153 at 18 acres, B-236 at four acres, A-473 at eight acres and B-268 at 1.75 acres. The company said the purchases remain subject to due diligence and the completion of corporate, regulatory and legal formalities.

On the power side, the board approved a 7.5MW wind turbine supplied by Goldwind through Orient Energy Systems (Private) Limited. It also approved a solar plant of up to six megawatts using panels from JinkoSolar Holding Co. Ltd., with local works to be carried out by A2Z Energy Systems (Private) Limited.

A 20 megawatt-hour battery energy storage system rated at 0.5C was approved as well, to be supplied by Sungrow Power Supply Co. Ltd. through Orient Energy Systems. Profit reported the renewable package as 13.5MW in total.

Separately, Gul Ahmed said its acquisition of Plot A-44 at SITE Nooriabad had been completed, covering the land, building, plant, machinery, allied equipment and other associated assets.

The notice did not state the price of the five plots or the cost of the energy equipment, and gave no timeline for installation.

Gul Ahmed runs a composite textile mill that manufactures and sells textile products, and also operates a retail business that began in Karachi and has grown to more than 40 stores across the country, selling fashion and clothing as well as home accessories. The land and power approvals extend an industrial footprint that the company has been building at Nooriabad, where its most recent plot purchase has now been closed.

Corporate filings of this kind are routine for listed manufacturers, but the details disclosed on Monday show the scale of the company's expansion at the Jamshoro estate and its move into captive wind, solar and storage capacity alongside its textile operations.
