Karachi court indicts Anmol Pinky and Sameer in drug case

A Karachi sessions court indicted Anmol, known as Pinky, and co-accused Sameer in a narcotics case after both were presented by jail authorities via video link. The two denied the charges, and the court summoned prosecution witnesses for the next hearing.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Arshad Hussain read the indictment to the accused in the drug case, Aaj News and Express News reported. According to Express News, the investigating officer also submitted an interim challan before the court. After the accused entered not-guilty pleas, the judge issued notices to witnesses to appear at the next hearing.

Police arrested Anmol on 12 May 2026 in Karachi's Garden area during a joint operation by Karachi police and a federal sensitive agency, Aaj News reported. Officers said they recovered around one and a half kilogrammes of cocaine, a 9mm pistol and a chemical used in processing cocaine from her possession.

Aaj News, quoting police and investigating officers, reported that Anmol is named in more than 16 cases at police stations including Darakhshan, Gazri, Baghdadi, Garden, Boat Basin and Defence. The cases include narcotics peddling, illegal weapons and other offences. Police said she had earlier been booked in drug cases in 2020, 2021 and 2022 and remained a fugitive for a long period. Investigators allege the network extended beyond Karachi and involved multiple facilitators. They are also examining bank accounts and financial records, and have recovered more than 100 gigabytes of data from her mobile phone for analysis, according to Aaj News.

Express News reported that the Darakhshan police had registered a case against the accused in 2021. In June 2026, the court heard bail applications of alleged facilitators in the Garden police station narcotics case, according to Aaj News. Separately, a judicial magistrate in South Karachi approved a final challan on 5 August 2026 in a murder case registered at Baghdadi police station, in which police changed the charge to qatl-bis-sabab, Aaj News reported.
