Karachi police probe mysterious death of 19-year-old woman
The woman, identified as Nazia and married a few months ago, was found dead in her Paposh Nagar home; her body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Police in Karachi recovered the body of a 19-year-old woman from a house in the Paposh Nagar neighbourhood, and the station house officer said the circumstances of her death were not immediately clear. The body was found in a katchi abadi near Chandni Chowk in Paposh Nagar, according to police. Officers shifted the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
The victim was identified as Nazia, wife of one Farman, who was married a few months ago, Paposh Nagar SHO Shaukat told Express News. He said a post-mortem examination is being conducted and the cause of death had not yet been determined.
"The cause of death could not be determined immediately, but a post-mortem is being conducted and the situation will become clear after its report comes," Shaukat said. "There is some mystery in the incident."
The woman's husband, Farman, gave a statement to police in which he said his wife phoned him between 2:30pm and 3pm to say she was feeling unwell. He said he reached the house about half an hour later and found that she had died, according to the SHO. Police have not yet said whether the husband's account matches other evidence or whether anyone else was present at the time.
Nazia lived in the same house with her mother and her husband, police said. Her mother and maternal uncle also arrived at the hospital after being informed. Police said further investigation is underway and statements from family members are being recorded. The post-mortem report is expected to determine the manner of death.
