LHC declines immediate suspension of Imran sisters' detention orders
The Lahore High Court has sought replies from the Punjab government and other respondents on petitions challenging the 30-day MPO detention of Noreen Niazi and Dr Uzma Khan.

The Lahore High Court on Thursday issued notices to the Punjab government and other respondents in petitions challenging the detention of PTI founder Imran Khan's sisters Noreen Niazi and Dr Uzma Khan, Geo News reported. Justice Abher Gul Khan, hearing the petitions, declined a request for immediate suspension of the detention notifications and directed the respondents to file replies.
Lahore Deputy Commissioner had ordered the 30-day detention of Noreen and Uzma on September 21 under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order, following a police recommendation. The two sisters were shifted to Kot Lakhpat Jail, where their sister Aleema Khan was detained a day earlier. Aleema was arrested on Sunday while leaving a gym in Lahore and later moved to Kot Lakhpat, according to sources cited by Geo News.
The detentions came before PTI's planned nationwide protest and march on Islamabad on September 27 to demand Imran Khan's release and constitutional supremacy. Lawyers Mudassir Umar and Barrister Taimur represented Noreen and Uzma, while lawyer Farrukh Lodhi represented the Punjab government.
Aleema's son Shahraiz Khan has separately challenged the detention orders issued against his mother and her driver. At a hearing on September 22, the court sought arguments on the maintainability of that petition and adjourned the matter until September 25.
Separately, Dawn reported that a court has admitted a petition concerning the detention of 24 PTI representatives. The outlet did not provide further details in the report carried by Ua.News.
