The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) marked the 38th birthday of its chairman, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, with celebrations across Sindh, Dawn reported on Tuesday.

The party held events in different parts of the province, although the report did not specify the number of gatherings or how many people attended. Separately, Daily Times reported that the Sindh Assembly Speaker and PPP leader Shazia Marri were among senior party figures who sent birthday greetings to the chairman.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was born on 21 September 1988. He has led the PPP since 2007, following the assassination of his mother, former prime minister Benazir Bhutto. He served as foreign minister in the coalition government led by Shehbaz Sharif from 2022 to 2023.

The PPP, one of Pakistan’s largest political parties, has traditionally celebrated the birthdays of its leaders with public meetings, cake-cutting ceremonies and rallies. These events are particularly common in Sindh, the party’s long-standing political base.

The birthday events took place as parties across Pakistan continue to hold public activities ahead of the next general election, though neither report linked the celebrations to any formal campaign announcement.

Neither Dawn nor Daily Times reported any statement from Bilawal on the occasion. Further details of the birthday programme, including the exact date and locations of the events, were not immediately available.
