SHC warns it may send Yellow Line case to NAB
Bench unhappy over Anti-Corruption Establishment's failure to file charge sheet in Rs8.5bn BRT case, issues show cause to ACE chairman.

A two-judge constitutional bench of the Sindh High Court has hinted at sending the Rs8.5 billion Yellow Line bus rapid transit corruption case to the National Accountability Bureau after the Anti-Corruption Establishment failed to file a charge sheet before the trial court, Dawn reported on Friday.
The bench expressed annoyance over what it termed the ACE's continued and unexplained failure to move the case forward, and issued a show-cause notice to the ACE chairman. The court was sitting in Karachi.
According to the Dawn report, the bench said the case could be referred to NAB for further investigation if the provincial anti-corruption body does not make progress. No date for the next hearing was mentioned in the available excerpt of the report, and it did not say whether the ACE chairman had responded to the show-cause notice.
The case concerns alleged corruption in the construction of Karachi's Yellow Line BRT corridor. The Rs8.5 billion figure relates to allegations of financial irregularities in the project. An international news aggregator also carried the same development, attributing it to Dawn.
