UHS opens applications for 252 quota MBBS and BDS seats

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) Lahore has opened admissions against 252 reserved MBBS and BDS seats in Punjab's public-sector medical and dental colleges for the 2026-27 session, allocating 214 seats to MBBS and 38 to BDS.

The seats are reserved for candidates from the Islamabad Capital Territory, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan and the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas, according to the university's admission notice. Both ProPakistani and Dental News reported the announcement, citing the same seat totals.

Online applications for MBBS quota seats opened on Monday, October 26 at 9:00 AM and close on Monday, November 9 at 5:00 PM. The BDS application window opens later, running from December 14 at 9:00 AM to December 28 at 5:00 PM. The process follows a policy notified by the Punjab Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department on October 14, 2026.

Candidates must have passed MDCAT in 2026, 2025 or 2024 from their own province or region. MBBS applicants need at least 55 percent marks in the test, while BDS applicants need 50 percent. All applicants must have at least 60 percent in FSc Pre-Medical or an equivalent 12-year qualification recognised by the Inter Boards Coordination Commission, with Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics among their subjects.

Proof of belonging to the region whose quota is being claimed is mandatory. AJK candidates may submit a First Class State Subject Certificate, a Permanent Resident Certificate or a Refugee Card issued by the relevant state authority in place of a domicile certificate. Balochistan candidates may provide a Local Certificate from the relevant district authority.

Applications are made through quotambbs.uhs.edu.pk for MBBS and quotabds.uhs.edu.pk for BDS. Applicants register with their name, email address, CNIC, passport or CRC number and mobile number, then enter domicile, contact details, address, nationality, gender and date of birth, select their seat category, record SSC and HSSC marks and MDCAT results, and upload scanned documents in PNG or JPG format, each no larger than 500 KB. UHS advises candidates to read the admission policy and prospectus on its website before applying.

UHS will publish the MBBS provisional merit list on November 13 and the final list on November 17. The first college-wise selection list is due on November 27, the second selection and upgradation list on December 4 and the third selection list on December 10. MBBS classes begin on February 1, 2027.

For BDS, the provisional order of merit is scheduled for January 4, 2027 and the final order for January 7, with selection lists on January 18, January 25 and February 1.

UHS said the schedule may change in line with directions issued by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council or the Punjab government.
