Attaullah calls for KP government focus on public welfare
Punjab minister Azma Bokhari separately said public resources must serve people and shared a video critical of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's leadership.
Radio Pakistan reported that Attaullah has called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to pay greater attention to public welfare in the province. The state broadcaster's online item did not include Attaullah's full name, designation, or the context of the remark.
A separate report by the Daily Times quoted Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari as saying that public office is a trust from Allah Almighty, and the resources attached to such responsibility must be used for the welfare of the people. She said those who neglect this responsibility will be questioned.
According to the Daily Times, Bokhari also shared a short documentary based on statements made by Sohail Afridi. The paper said the video states that every young person in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a "badmash", that they will return in shrouds in the struggle for freedom and will bring that freedom with them, and that "we will turn Islamabad into Somnath." The report did not explain the Somnath reference.
The Daily Times reported that questions are being raised about what the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister is telling the people, and whether he is conveying the message that "we are ready to die." The chief minister was not named in the report, nor was Sohail Afridi's role identified.
It was not clear from the two reports whether Attaullah's call and Bokhari's remarks were connected or made at separate events. Skardu Times could not independently verify the video's contents or the identity of Sohail Afridi. Neither report included a response from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government or the individuals named.
