Balochistan minister warns Afghanistan defeat awaits in war
The provincial minister said Pakistan would not compromise on its sovereignty and urged Afghanistan to abandon a misguided belief about its own power.

Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove has warned Afghanistan that defeat will be its fate if it chooses war with Pakistan, and said Pakistan is fully prepared to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
According to Express News and UrduPoint, which carried the minister's statement, Langove said Afghanistan was under a misconception that it had defeated the Soviet Union and had therefore become a major power. He asked Kabul to abandon that misunderstanding and see the actual facts.
"Afghanistan should not make the mistake of fighting Pakistan: defeat will be its destiny," Express News quoted the minister as saying. "Pakistan is always ready for its sovereignty and defence," he added.
Langove alleged that Afghanistan wanted to fight Pakistan on the strength of money from India and Israel. He said the Pakistan Army was fully prepared at the borders. Pakistan, he said, would not compromise on its sovereignty and defence, and anyone who looked at Pakistan with an evil eye would be given a befitting reply.
The minister urged Afghanistan to pull its own people out of the torment of war. Instead of increasing tension in the region, he said, Afghanistan should promote good neighbourly relations.
Neither report mentioned a specific cross-border incident that prompted the remarks. The statement comes amid persistent friction along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, but the minister's warning was general rather than tied to a particular event.
