Balochistan Police get 865 motorcycles for modern patrolling

Quetta: The Balochistan government has provided 865 motorcycles to police units across the province as part of a drive to modernise policing and improve law and order, police officials said on Monday.

The motorcycles have been distributed to police stations, divisions and specialised branches in districts across Balochistan. According to police officials, the initiative was carried out in line with the vision of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Muhammad Tahir.

Police said the motorcycles are intended to improve patrolling, rapid response and field performance, particularly in densely populated areas, narrow streets and difficult terrains. Officials added that the motorcycles will help personnel reach incidents more quickly, improve timely access and operational efficiency, and save both time and fuel.

ARY News reported that officials see the supply of modern equipment as part of a broader strategy to restructure policing on modern lines and strengthen the system in remote areas. Alongside the new motorcycles, organised motorcycle patrols are expected to increase police presence and enable swift action against criminal and anti-social elements.

The Associated Press of Pakistan reported that the motorcycles will be used for mobile patrolling, immediate response and field policing. The agency said coverage is intended to extend beyond urban and crowded neighbourhoods to far-flung and challenging regions that are often difficult to reach.

Authorities said the move would significantly improve the reach and visibility of the police, enhance public safety and reinforce the provincial government's commitment to modernising law enforcement in Balochistan. Both ARY News and the Associated Press of Pakistan carried the announcement.

Police officials said the motorcycles would be particularly useful in areas where larger vehicles cannot enter, allowing officers to patrol narrow lanes and remote tracks more effectively.
