Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged the federal government on 7 November to keep its doors open for talks with the opposition, give up what he called its habit of picking fights with everyone, and engage with all stakeholders.

He spoke to reporters in Larkana, the Bhutto family's home district in interior Sindh, after laying the foundation stone of a 600-bed hospital at Chandka Medical Hospital, the city's main government health facility. The Associated Press of Pakistan reported both the remarks and the foundation ceremony.

The state agency also reported that Bilawal spoke about the time he was first elected to the National Assembly from Larkana. It did not say when the hospital is due to be completed or what it will cost.

Daily Times reported that Bilawal visited the family mausoleums at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, the Bhutto ancestral village in Larkana district, where Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto are buried. The paper said he laid floral wreaths and offered Fatiha at the graves of the two former prime ministers, and at those of Mir Murtaza Bhutto, Mir Shahnawaz Bhutto and Begum Nusrat Bhutto.

He paid tribute to what the party calls the martyrs of democracy and prayed for Pakistan's security, the prosperity of the people and the supremacy of democracy, according to Daily Times.

Neither report named the opposition parties Bilawal had in mind, or which stakeholders he wanted the federal government to engage, and neither carried any response from the government to his remarks.

How the reports differ

APP led on Bilawal's demand that the federal government keep its doors open to the opposition and on the foundation stone of a 600-bed hospital at Chandka Medical Hospital, and it was the only report to mention his remarks about his first election from Larkana. Daily Times carried only the visit to the Bhutto mausoleums at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, the wreaths and the prayers, and did not mention the hospital or his comments to reporters.
