Cyber crime agency holds awareness sessions in Gilgit and three Punjab cities
The sessions, ordered by NCCIA Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, covered online fraud and cyber harassment, but the agency did not say how many students attended.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has held cyber awareness sessions at schools and colleges in Multan, Gujranwala, Gilgit and Sahiwal, covering online fraud, cyber harassment and the safe use of social media.
The sessions were organised by the agency's circles in the four cities on the directions of NCCIA Director General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, an NCCIA official said, according to the Associated Press of Pakistan, which reported the campaign on Tuesday.
Gilgit is the only one of the four cities outside Punjab, and the only stop in Gilgit-Baltistan. Multan, Gujranwala and Sahiwal are all in Punjab.
APP's report, filed from Islamabad on 27 October, did not say how many sessions were held, which schools and colleges hosted them, when they took place, or how many students and teachers attended. It also did not give the number of NCCIA staff involved, or say whether the campaign will be extended to other districts.
According to the official, the purpose was to educate students and teachers about online financial fraud, cyber harassment and the safe handling of social media platforms.
The report carried no figures on cyber crime complaints, no case studies from the sessions and no statement from any of the schools or colleges that hosted them.
For readers in Gilgit-Baltistan, the Gilgit leg is the part of the campaign that took place locally; the remaining three cities are covered by the same federal agency through its circles in Punjab.
The NCCIA is the federal agency that investigates cyber crime. No schedule for further sessions in Gilgit-Baltistan, including Skardu, was announced in the report.
