The director general of Inter-Services Public Relations held a special session with university students and faculty members in Peshawar and took their questions on the country's security situation and regional challenges, Express News reported.

Students from several universities welcomed the military's media chief on arrival and presented him with a traditional Pashtun turban and chador, according to the Express News report, which did not name the officer or say when the session was held.

The report said the DG ISPR spoke in detail with the students on the security situation and regional challenges and gave detailed, reasoned answers to the questions they raised. It did not carry the text of any question put to him or his full answers, and gave no figure for the number of students who attended.

Participants said they stood with the Pakistan Army and described its role in eliminating terrorism and in security matters as key, Express News reported. The students also said the session had briefed them on the responsible use of social media and on what the report described as the facts behind propaganda warfare. Those remarks were carried in the outlet's account and were not separately issued as a statement.

The report did not say which universities the students and faculty members came from, or where in Peshawar the session was held. It carried no separate statement from ISPR on the meeting, so the account of what was discussed rests on the outlet's reporting.

ISPR is the media wing of the Pakistan Army, and its director general is the military's principal public spokesman on security affairs. Peshawar is the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Separately, UrduPoint reported that the station house officer of Inqilab police station in Peshawar circle had settled a 40-marla property dispute between two parties. The outlet's full report on that matter was not available.
