Government opens registrations for IT certification reimbursement
Graduates and professionals can claim back up to Rs 70,000 for exams from AWS, Microsoft, Google, Cisco and Oracle, with PSEB verifying each claim.

The federal government has opened registrations for the Prime Minister's IT Certification Reimbursement Program, which pays Pakistani IT graduates and professionals back up to Rs 70,000 for internationally recognised technology certifications.
The Pakistan Software Export Board is implementing the programme under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication. ProPakistani reported that the scheme is meant to raise the technical skills of local professionals and improve their access to jobs abroad.
Approved certifications include courses and examinations offered by Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Google, Cisco and Oracle.
Applicants register through the Tech Destination Skills portal, complete their profile and select one of the approved certifications. They then sit and pass the examination, and submit the official certificate, the examination fee receipt and the other documents the programme requires before claiming reimbursement.
PSEB verifies the submitted information before it approves payment, according to the report.
The Rs 70,000 is the maximum reimbursement limit and not a fixed payment. The amount an applicant actually receives depends on the eligible certification expenses and on the conditions attached to the programme.
ProPakistani did not say how many applicants the programme will cover, when registrations close or how the claims will be paid out.
The programme sits alongside the government's wider push on information technology exports, in which PSEB is the main implementing body for skills and industry support.
