Karachi airport vaccination centre to run 24 hours from September 24
Border Health Services says vaccine requirements will be set according to each passenger's destination, transit and travel schedule.

Karachi's Jinnah International Airport will keep its international travellers' vaccination centre open round the clock from Wednesday, September 24, according to Border Health Services.
The centre has been set up at the civil dispensary near the airport health quarantine Star Gate, Express News reported. It will serve Pakistani passport holders travelling abroad, with the need for each vaccine determined by the passenger's destination, transit points and travel schedule.
Meningitis vaccine will cost Rs2,785 and influenza vaccine Rs1,720, while polio vaccine will be given free of charge. The influenza vaccine may be given from one year of age and the meningitis vaccine from 12 years of age. Polio vaccination will be compulsory once a year.
Pregnant women will currently receive only the influenza vaccine, while breastfeeding mothers may receive all three vaccines.
If biometric verification fails, the traveller will be referred to authorised staff and a manual vaccination certificate may be issued. Nadra, Pak ID or e-Sahulat payment receipts will remain valid for 90 days.
Border Health Services said foreign nationals are exempt from these vaccination requirements. Travel agents have been directed to take immediate steps to verify vaccinations for passengers travelling to Saudi Arabia.
Airlines, travel agents and ground handlers are required to inform passengers of the vaccination requirements. Fake or doubtful vaccination certificates will not be accepted, and violators may face legal action. Interference with the health verification process or violation of instructions can lead to up to six months in prison or a fine of up to Rs100,000.
The new arrangements will remain in force until 10 October at 10am.
