Muqam pledges to fulfil PML-N promises in Azad Kashmir
Speaking in Islamabad, the minister said the AJK power transfer was complete and urged Rawalakot and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa residents to reject protests and sit-ins.

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam said on Thursday that every promise made by the PML-N leadership to the people of Azad Kashmir would be fulfilled. He was addressing a news conference in Islamabad alongside PML-N leaders Zahid Khan and Samar Bilour, Radio Pakistan reported.
Muqam said all phases of the peaceful transfer of power in Azad Jammu and Kashmir had now been completed after the new AJK president took the oath of office. He praised the people of Azad Kashmir for electing the new government through the power of their vote, saying they had supported the democratic process instead of disturbance and chaos. He also thanked the law enforcement agencies for ensuring that the elections were held in a peaceful manner.
The minister said practical work had already started on development projects in Azad Kashmir, including the establishment of five Daanish Schools at a cost of five billion rupees. He said protests and sit-ins never produce results, and he appealed to the people of Kashmir, particularly in Rawalakot, to abandon the politics of protests and sit-ins and engage in dialogue to resolve their issues peacefully. The federation, he said, has always stood with the people of Azad Kashmir and will continue to do so.
Turning to the PTI's long march call, Muqam strongly criticised the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for what he described as a complete failure to launch any mega project for the development and prosperity of the people. He said the KP government remained focused only on protests, sit-ins and long marches, and had done nothing for its people. He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should hold the PTI leaders accountable for this failure.
Muqam appealed to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa not to pay any attention to the long march call by PTI leaders and to stay away from the politics of protests.
