Naqvi meets Pezeshkian in Tehran, vows stronger Pakistan-Iran ties
The interior minister's visit included talks with Iran's interior minister and a review of trade, energy and regional security cooperation.

Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran on Monday and reaffirmed Islamabad's commitment to expanding relations between the two countries.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, Naqvi said Pakistan is committed to further developing relations between Islamabad and Tehran. Iranian media reported that President Pezeshkian told Naqvi that US actions and pressure had helped strengthen ties among Muslim countries, pointing to the growing frequency of Iranian-Pakistani diplomatic engagements as an example.
Pezeshkian emphasised the need to expand bilateral cooperation in trade, energy, tourism, investment, culture and scientific fields, saying Iran and Pakistan were powerful regional nations with enormous human capacities and rich resources. He said joint investments and greater communication between sectors could help both countries meet many of their needs through domestic and regional capabilities.
Naqvi said relations between Iran and Pakistan had never been at such a high level as they were today. He said Pakistan is determined to further develop cooperation in trade, economy, tourism, politics, culture and science, and briefed the Iranian president on the latest status of bilateral cooperation.
Earlier, Naqvi met Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni. The two sides reviewed progress on ongoing cooperation between their interior ministries, according to a post on X by Pakistan's interior ministry. Momeni thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their efforts towards regional peace and stability, describing Pakistan's continuous efforts as very beneficial. Naqvi said bilateral relations would grow even stronger in the coming period.
The meetings took place amid stalled talks between the United States and Iran to end the war that began in February, with Pakistan continuing to play a key mediating role in reducing tensions and promoting regional peace, Geo News reported.
