Pakistan beat China 3-0 to stay unbeaten at Asian Games
Captain Abubakar Mahmood, Sufyan Khan and Hannan Shahid scored as the Green Shirts claimed a third straight win in Nagoya on Thursday.

Pakistan extended their unbeaten run in men's hockey at the 2026 Asian Games with a 3-0 victory over China in Nagoya on Thursday, their third straight win in Pool B.
According to Minute Mirror, the match at Kawasaki Juko Stadium stayed goalless through the first quarter before captain Abubakar Mahmood broke the deadlock in the 19th minute with a penalty corner. Sufyan Khan doubled the lead five minutes later, and Hannan Shahid added a field goal in the 28th minute to put Pakistan 3-0 ahead.
China could not mount a response in the remaining periods, and Pakistan kept a clean sheet to seal the result. The Green Shirts had previously opened their campaign with a 9-0 win over Thailand and followed it with a 5-1 victory over Uzbekistan.
The three wins give Pakistan nine points from three matches. They sit second in Pool B behind Malaysia, who also have nine points but lead on goal difference. Pakistan's next fixture is against Malaysia in their second-last league match, a contest that will likely decide first place in the pool and the knockout draw.
Pakistan have scored 17 goals and conceded one in the tournament so far, a record that underlines their dominance in the group stage. The men's hockey competition at the 2026 Asian Games is being staged in Nagoya, Japan. Pakistan entered the tournament among the medal contenders, and three wins from three matches have kept those expectations intact.
