Pakistan braces for PTI confrontation as lockdown imposed
Reports say authorities fear casualties ahead of an expected clash with supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Pakistan is bracing for a confrontation with supporters of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and a lockdown has been imposed amid fears of casualties, according to reports published by Orissa Post and FM Bharat.
The two outlets carried similar headlines on Saturday saying the country was preparing for a clash with PTI, but neither provided the location of the lockdown or details of the expected confrontation.
The reports did not say what event the PTI supporters were gathering for, when the clash was expected, or which authorities imposed the lockdown.
Skardu Times could not independently verify the reports. No official statement from the federal or provincial governments, or from PTI, was immediately available.
