Pakistani golfer Ahmad Zafar Hayat wins Singapore senior amateur title
He carded rounds of 73, 74 and 76 for a three-round total of 223, while retired Brigadier Omer Ejaz finished third.

Pakistan’s Ahmad Zafar Hayat won the overall title at the 35th Singapore Open Senior Amateur Championship 2026 in Singapore, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported from Islamabad on September 25. The state-run news agency said the result put Pakistan on top of the international senior amateur golf event.
Hayat carded rounds of 73, 74 and 76 for a three-round aggregate of 223, seven over par, according to APP. The report said he secured the championship title.
Minute Mirror, which also carried the story, reported the same aggregate of 223 but spelled the champion’s first name Ahmed. It said he finished ahead of the rest of the field over the three rounds of competition.
Retired Brigadier Omer Ejaz, the second Pakistani golfer in the event, finished third with a combined score of 229, Minute Mirror reported. APP named Ejaz as another Pakistani participant, identifying him as Brigadier (Retd) Omer Ejaz, but the published extract did not give his final position or score. Minute Mirror spelled his first name Umar.
A third Pakistani golfer, Muhammad Ahmed Manan, completed the championship with an overall score of 250, according to Minute Mirror. The outlet said three Pakistani golfers featured among the participants and described Hayat’s victory as the highlight for the national contingent.
The Singapore Open Senior Amateur Championship is a three-round senior amateur competition, now in its 35th edition. Hayat’s scores of 73, 74 and 76 left him at plus-seven and secured the overall crown. Senior amateur golfers compete over three rounds, and the winner is determined by the lowest aggregate score.
Both Pakistani reports noted Hayat’s consistency across the three competitive rounds. Minute Mirror said Hayat’s victory is expected to draw attention among Pakistan’s golfing community and further highlight the country’s participation in international senior amateur competitions.
