PSL 12 franchises meet today to settle auction and signing rules
The workshop comes with the direct-signing window open until November 23 and the player auction scheduled for January 23, 2027.

All eight Pakistan Super League franchises meet on Thursday, October 29, for a workshop covering player auction rules, the tournament schedule, operational matters and direct signings, as preparations for the league's 12th edition move forward, ProPakistani reported.
The meeting comes days after the Pakistan Cricket Board opened the direct-signing window, which will stay open until November 23, the outlet reported. Under the pre-season roadmap it described, each franchise can directly sign one marquee player who did not take part in either PSL 10 or PSL 11.
The player auction is scheduled for January 23, 2027. PSL 12 itself is set to run from March 18 to May 2, 2027, with eight teams competing for the title.
According to ProPakistani, the tournament window was finalised after consultations with franchise owners and representatives at the PSL Governing Council meeting held in London on September 1, 2026.
The upcoming season follows PSL 11, which was the first to feature eight teams and the first to use a player auction in place of the traditional draft system. The final at Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium drew 32,461 spectators, the outlet reported.
Peshawar Zalmi won their first title in nine years, beating league newcomers Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final on May 3.
ProPakistani's report did not say what the franchises decided at the workshop, and no statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board on the meeting's outcome was carried in the material available. The details of the auction rules and the mechanics of the direct-signing window beyond the single marquee pick were also not set out.
The workshop is one of several steps before the auction, which will shape squads for a season that is again expected to run through the spring window agreed with the franchises. For the eight team managements, the immediate decisions concern which marquee player to sign directly before November 23 and how to prepare for an auction that will fill out the rest of each squad.
