Security forces kill two terrorists in Turbat operation
Intelligence-based raid in the Josak area targeted suspected militants; security sources say a search is under way for those who escaped.

Security forces killed two militants in an intelligence-based operation in Turbat, Balochistan, on Wednesday, security sources said. The raid was described by Minute Mirror and Geo News as part of Operation Radd-ul-Fitanah 3, while the Associated Press of Pakistan referred to it as Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad 3.
The operation took place in the Josak area of Turbat, according to Minute Mirror. APP reported the location as Joosk. Security sources said the operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated the presence of suspected terrorists in the area. They said security forces moved in on the basis of the information and launched a targeted operation against the militants. During the exchange of fire that followed, two militants were killed.
Security sources identified the dead men as members of Fitna al-Hindustan. Geo News described the group as India-backed and said the militants were India-sponsored. According to the sources, some militants managed to flee from the site. Security forces are pursuing the fleeing suspects, and a search operation is under way in the surrounding areas to locate and apprehend them.
Security sources said the action was part of continued efforts to disrupt militant networks and prevent terrorist groups from carrying out attacks in Balochistan. They added that intelligence-based operations would continue to stop militants from regrouping or establishing footholds in the province.
The Turbat operation follows other recent encounters in Balochistan. Geo News reported that a day earlier, security forces killed six India-backed terrorists during Operation Shaaban-II in the Saran Tangi area and detained nine suspected individuals. Earlier, forces foiled an attempt to disrupt public movement on the N-25 highway near Kalat, killing five militants and recovering 23 hostages, according to Geo News.
Pakistan has recorded a sharp increase in terror attacks, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan particularly affected, according to a Centre for Research and Security Studies report cited by Geo News. The report said the two provinces accounted for nearly 96 percent of all violence-related fatalities in the second quarter of 2026.
