Test players join departmental sides for President’s Trophy third round
Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel and Naseem Shah are among those joining departmental teams ahead of matches in Islamabad, Abbottabad and Peshawar.

The third round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I begins on Thursday with fixtures in Islamabad, Abbottabad and Peshawar, Dawn reported. Several Test cricketers and Pakistan Under-19 players have joined their departmental sides for the round.
Babar Azam and Razaullah have joined Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) ahead of its match against Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, according to Dawn. Dawn said mystery spinner Usman Tariq has linked up with KRL.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said Babar, Saud Shakeel, Naseem Shah, Razaullah and others have joined departmental Grade-I teams before the third round.
Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), which lost to Ghani Glass in the second round, has been bolstered by the return of players, Dawn reported without naming them.
The President’s Trophy Grade-I is Pakistan’s premier departmental first-class competition. The third round follows the second round, in which Ghani Glass defeated SNGPL. Neither the PCB nor Dawn provided full squad lists or details of the remaining fixtures beyond the three host cities.
