Fish exports rise 3.23 percent in first two months of FY27
Pakistan shipped 24,662 metric tons of fish and fish products worth $47.791 million in July-August, up from 22,433 metric tons a year earlier.

Pakistan’s fish and fish preparations exports increased by 3.23 percent during the first two months of fiscal year 2026-27 compared with the same period a year earlier, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) and reported by the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan on Tuesday.
The country exported 24,662 metric tons of fish and fish products worth $47.791 million in July and August 2026, the PBS data showed. In the corresponding months of the previous fiscal year, export volume stood at 22,433 metric tons, an increase of about 10 percent in quantity terms. The 3.23 percent rise reported by the bureau is measured in dollar value.
The bulletin did not provide a comparable dollar figure for the first two months of the 2025-26 fiscal year in the portion carried by the news agency. The current figures imply an average unit price of about $1,938 per metric ton, though a direct comparison with the previous year cannot be made without the earlier value.
The Associated Press of Pakistan's report was headlined as covering growth in both fish and meat exports during the opening two months of FY27. However, the data cited in the available text concerned fish and fish preparations, and separate figures for meat shipments were not included in the summary received by the desk.
Pakistan's fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30, so the data cover the first two months of the 2026-27 cycle. The PBS publishes monthly merchandise trade statistics that track exports and imports across food and non-food categories, including fish, meat, rice and textiles. The report was filed from Islamabad and did not break down the fish export figures by destination or product type.
