Former PIMS burn centre head seeks inquiry into deterioration
Prof Dr Tariq Iqbal has written to the federal health minister alleging the specialised facility has collapsed after his retirement.

The former head of the burn care centre at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), Prof Dr Tariq Iqbal, has appealed to federal health authorities for a high-level inquiry into the alleged deterioration of the specialised facility.
According to Dawn, in a letter addressed to the federal health minister, Prof Iqbal said significant structural and functional changes were made to the centre after his retirement. He alleged these changes have led to the "complete collapse" of the facility and adversely affected its specialised services for burn patients.
The appeal comes as Pims is already under scrutiny following a recent fire incident at the hospital that killed 15 newborns. Dawn reported that the former head's letter seeks an inquiry into the facility's condition.
The report did not provide further details of the specific changes or the minister's response.
