LHC orders jail authorities to let Noreen Niazi meet her daughters
Justice Abher Gul Khan summoned Lahore's deputy commissioner on November 4 to explain extensions to the detention orders of Noreen and Uzma Khan.

Justice Abher Gul Khan of the Lahore High Court directed jail authorities on Monday to arrange a meeting between Noreen Niazi, a sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, and her two daughters on Tuesday, Dawn reported.
The order came while the court heard petitions challenging extensions to the detention orders of Noreen Niazi, Uzma Khan and Aleema Khanum, all sisters of the former prime minister.
The judge summoned the Lahore deputy commissioner to appear in person on November 4 to explain the extensions granted to the detention orders of Noreen and Uzma, according to Dawn. The court adjourned the hearing of a petition challenging Aleema Khanum's fresh detention until next week.
Earlier on Monday, the high court sought reports from the Punjab Home Department on the pleas challenging the extension of the detention orders. Dawn reported the request for the reports but did not give the department's reply, which was not before the court when the jail meeting was ordered.
UrduPoint also reported the direction on the meeting between Noreen Niazi and her daughters. It carried no further detail on the proceedings or on the arguments made by either side.
The reports did not state the grounds on which the three sisters are being held, how long the extensions under challenge run, or the provincial government's argument in defence of them. The court is hearing the challenges on separate dates, with the Aleema Khanum petition now listed for next week and the deputy commissioner due in court on November 4 in the Noreen and Uzma case.
The Lahore High Court has been hearing a series of petitions brought by or on behalf of Imran Khan's family since his detention, and Monday's proceedings dealt only with the detention of his three sisters.
