The Meteorological Department expects dry weather across most of Pakistan on Monday, with light rain and snowfall over the hills at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan during Sunday night, 24 News HD reported.

Quoting the department's forecast, the channel said the northern areas will remain partly cloudy with cold conditions in the morning and at night. Isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir may receive light rain or thunderstorms along with light snowfall over the hills.

Skardu recorded a maximum temperature of 0°C in the past 24 hours, the second-lowest in the department's table. Leh was listed at minus 3°C, Babusar at 1°C and Kalat at 3°C. The report gave these as the lowest maximum temperatures recorded in the country; it did not list a minimum for Skardu.

Bloom Pakistan also carried a report headlined that rain and snowfall were expected in five areas of Pakistan. Its published headline did not name the areas.

In Islamabad and the surrounding areas, dry weather is forecast, with temperatures likely to stay cold during the morning and night. Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to be dry, while the hilly areas remain partly cloudy and cold. Light rain or thunderstorms may occur in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Kurram and adjoining areas.

Punjab is expected to be dry across most districts. Murree, Galiyat and the surrounding areas may see partly cloudy conditions, with morning and night temperatures staying cold.

Most districts of Sindh are likely to be dry, though daytime temperatures will remain hot in the southern parts of the province. Balochistan is also expected to be dry in most districts, with cold conditions in its northern areas during the morning and night.

The department's past 24-hour report said dry weather prevailed across most parts of the country, while the northern areas experienced cold and partly cloudy weather.

The forecast covers Sunday night and Monday. Neither report published on Sunday carried a rain or snowfall warning for the Karakoram Highway or the Skardu road.
