Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has said the Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority will release a smart syllabus for Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 on November 7, 2026.

The minister said preparations were in their final stages and officials were completing the remaining work. The authority, known as PECTAA, will publish the details for all four classes on the day.

The syllabus is meant for secondary and higher secondary students who will sit next year's board examinations. According to the minister, it gives students a revised syllabus for their own class so that exam preparation becomes easier.

Hayat said the authority would share the complete syllabus details on Saturday, November 7.

TechJuice reported that the minister described the preparations as nearly complete and said the remaining tasks were with officials. ProPakistani carried the same announcement, reporting that the syllabus would be issued for Classes 9 to 12.

The announcement did not set out how the revised syllabus differs from the current one, which chapters have been dropped or added, or whether the board examinations will follow the existing timetable. It also did not say whether the revised syllabus applies to students in the current academic year or only to those sitting the 2027 examinations.

The authority's name places education, curriculum, teacher training and assessment under a single provincial body. Hayat is the Punjab minister for school education.
