President Donald Trump said on Saturday that the United States had knocked out much of Iran's military but still had to "take care of" one or two targets, CNA reported.

Trump said the remaining Iranian nuclear sites could be hit in "10 minutes", Hindustan Times reported. He did not name the targets, and none of the reports gave their location or the date of any strike on them.

Iran's supreme leader warned that the United States and Israel would face new attacks, CNA reported. Hindustan Times reported that Mojtaba Khamenei said any attack would be answered without "geographic limits". CNA referred to him only as Iran's supreme leader; Hindustan Times gave the name.

Tehran warned of reprisals if Iran is attacked again, CNA reported. The warning named Israel as well as the United States, widening the scope of the confrontation beyond the two countries that have exchanged threats in recent days.

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty reported that Trump renewed his threat against Iran and repeated that Washington still needed to "take care" of one or two targets. Arab News carried the same remark in its headline. The Hindu also reported Trump's statement that one or two targets remained.

The remarks describe a US campaign against Iran's military, which Trump said had been largely destroyed, and against its nuclear programme. None of the five reports gave a casualty toll from any strike, evidence for the damage Trump described, or a date for when the attacks took place.

The reports also did not say where Trump made the statement. CNA said he spoke on Saturday, October 31.

Trump's "10 minutes" remark concerns Iran's nuclear sites, the facilities at the centre of the dispute between Washington and Tehran. Hindustan Times did not say whether he meant the time needed to launch a strike or the time the sites would take to be destroyed.

No Iranian official response to Trump's "10 minutes" remark was reported.
