Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a 52-piece crockery set, a 15-piece tea set and a model of a traditional Maldivian boat among the gifts deposited in the Toshakhana for October, Cabinet Division documents released on Thursday showed. The division said the presents had been deposited under the law and their assessed value was still being determined.

The records also list a silver-coloured replica of a Maldivian dhoni, an item described as "The World's First Recorded Melody", a shield, a prayer-bead tasbeeh, a traditional textile piece, souvenirs and a table clock featuring a line model among the presents given to Sharif during the month.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar received a crystal tea cup and saucer set, a medal commemorating the Council of Nicaea from the Holy See and a commemorative plate from the Vatican. He was also given a traditional Bahraini model ship and a limited-edition Sunburst Gold wristwatch bearing the government of Pakistan's logo.

Pakistan's ambassador to China, Khalid Hashmi, received two iPhone 17 Pro Max handsets, the documents showed. The prime minister's daughter-in-law was given traditional Maldivian attire and a dress.

The items range from household goods and textiles to medals, a wristwatch and ship models, and the records name each recipient by office.

The Cabinet Division said details of all gifts received by the prime minister, the deputy prime minister and other officials had been received, but their valuation had not been completed. No assessed value was listed for any item in the released documents.

Under the Toshakhana system, officials may typically retain gifts after paying a portion of their assessed value, while the rest are held by the state.

Minute Mirror reported that the government has already made the Toshakhana record covering 1997 to September 2026 public, and that the October release extends that record.

How the reports differ

Business Recorder itemised each gift and named the wristwatch given to Ishaq Dar as a limited-edition Sunburst Gold piece bearing the government logo, where Minute Mirror described only "a wristwatch" and "two expensive mobile phones" for the ambassador to China. Minute Mirror alone reported that the government had already published the Toshakhana record from 1997 to September 2026 and that the October list extends it. Both outlets said the gifts were deposited under the rules; Business Recorder alone reported that valuation had not been completed.
