The Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum 2026 will run in Islamabad on November 12 and 13, with global mining executives, investors, policymakers, financial institutions and technical experts invited to assess the country's minerals sector, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported.

The conference is organised by the federal government and endorsed by the Special Investment Facilitation Council, with the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited as founding partner, according to ProPakistani. Organisers describe it as a follow-on to PMIF25, aimed at strengthening Pakistan's links to international mineral supply chains and drawing money into exploration, processing and sustainable mining.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir are listed among the speakers. Federal Minister for Energy Ali Pervaiz Malik will give the welcome address on the opening day, and PMIF President and OGDC managing director and chief executive Ahmed Hayat Lak will deliver the closing remarks on November 13.

The first day covers financing for early-stage exploration, the mining workforce and women's participation in the sector. ProPakistani reported that participants will examine next-generation projects including antimony developments and discoveries on active licences, and a session on geological survey collaboration and data sharing intended to cut exploration risk. A session on capability development will refer to Reko Diq and will be followed by certificates for graduates of the first two cohorts of a national programme.

The second day opens with a government dialogue on building investor-ready mining jurisdictions, at which ministers from other countries are due to discuss policy reform, local content, skills development and long-term industrial growth. Strategic announcements across the mineral value chain are scheduled. A session titled "License to Deliver" will take up export corridors, last-mile logistics, rail, power, water and CPEC connectivity for large-scale mining operations.

Energy Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the government was working to create a transparent and investor-friendly environment and that the forum would give investors, industry leaders and policymakers a platform to build long-term partnerships. Lak said major international industry players would attend. "It will give global leaders an opportunity to assess the potential of Pakistan's mineral sector and benefit from the opportunities it offers," ProPakistani quoted him as saying.

Representatives of global mining companies, financial institutions, engineering and technology firms, geological organisations and Pakistan's public and private sectors are expected at the two-day event.

ProPakistani carried the full programme: the SIFC endorsement, OGDC's role as founding partner, the session titles, the Reko Diq reference and the list of speakers from the prime minister and deputy prime minister to the army chief. Its report also carried statements from Energy Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik and from Ahmed Hayat Lak of OGDC. The APP report gave the dates, named the federal government as organiser and set out the forum's aims, without naming speakers or sessions.
