Balochistan journalists observe Black Day against dismissals and unpaid salaries
Black flags went up at press clubs across the province and reporters wore black armbands, with the PFUJ tying the day to the November 3, 2007 emergency.

Journalists across Balochistan observed a Black Day on Tuesday on the call of the Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ), hoisting black flags at press clubs and demonstrating against forced dismissals, bureau closures and unpaid wages.
The union's call named three grievances: journalists and media workers removed from their jobs, media bureau offices shut in Balochistan, and salaries either not paid or paid late. It also asked journalists to remember the emergency of November 3, 2007.
Dawn reported that black flags were hoisted at all press clubs in the province, and that journalists wore black armbands and staged demonstrations to highlight the difficulties the media industry is facing.
In Quetta, the Balochistan Union of Journalists took part in the observance, according to Dawn.
The observance was spread across the province's press clubs, which are the professional base for reporters working for national and local outlets in Balochistan.
November 3 is the date on which the emergency was declared in 2007, and the PFUJ's call tied this year's Black Day to that anniversary.
