Islamabad's local government elections will accept nomination papers past the original closing date, after the deadline for filing was extended. Express News reported the extension on 6 November without giving the new date.

The report, published as a headline item, named no authority as having ordered the extension and gave no reason for it. It did not say how long the window would stay open, when scrutiny of the papers would begin or when candidates could withdraw.

Local government elections in the capital are conducted by the Election Commission of Pakistan, which issues the schedule covering the filing deadline, scrutiny, withdrawal and polling day. No statement from the commission on a revised schedule appeared in the reports available.

A second report carried alongside the same item, from UrduPoint, dealt with a different Islamabad subject. It said Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif laid the foundation stone of a state lounge at Islamabad airport. The report gave no cost, completion date or size for the project.

The two items are unrelated. Neither outlet's report addressed the subject of the other.

The two reports the desk received did not cover the same event. Express News reported the extension of the nomination paper deadline for Islamabad's local elections, while the UrduPoint report filed alongside it covered Khawaja Asif's groundbreaking for a state lounge at Islamabad airport. Neither outlet gave a figure, a date or a named official for the other's subject.
