Sky Wings Aviation announces round-the-clock air ambulance service
The Karachi operator says the service runs under its air operator certificate and flew a patient from Sukkur to the city in about 90 minutes.

Sky Wings Aviation announced a 24-hour air ambulance service it says is the first in Pakistan, and flew a patient from Sukkur to Karachi in about 90 minutes.
The company said the service operates under its Air Operator Certificate. Patient Mushtaq Mehr was flown to Karachi on a Sky Wings aircraft, Express News reported.
Mehr's wife said the Sukkur-Karachi journey was completed in one and a half hours, which let her husband reach the city in time for treatment. She thanked the Edhi Foundation and Sky Wings Aviation for their help at a difficult time, and said she would pray for both organisations. She said the air ambulance is a new source of hope for patients in remote areas who are cut off from medical facilities and face hard conditions.
Imran Aslam Khan, chief executive of Sky Wings Aviation, said moving patients from far-off districts to Karachi without delay can save many lives. He said the company had made the service available around the clock so that patients can be taken to a hospital at once in any emergency.
Khan said Sky Wings Aviation is ready to work alongside the Edhi Foundation in its humanitarian mission, and expressed the company's commitment to keep running air ambulance flights that save lives, together with Saad Edhi.
The Edhi Foundation said serving people and helping those in need remain its first priority, and that it will keep taking every possible step for that purpose.
The announcement did not say how many aircraft will be assigned to the service, which districts it will cover or what patients will be charged. It also did not say whether the Sukkur flight was the first the company has operated this way.
Express News reported the announcement.
