Field Marshal Munir calls for sustained training on SSG headquarters visit
ISPR said the army chief was briefed on specialised training and mission readiness; Dawn placed the visit in Turbat while Minute Mirror reported Tarbela.

Field Marshal Asim Munir visited the Special Services Group headquarters on Thursday and told troops there that sustained training, locally developed capability and operational readiness were needed to meet evolving security threats, the military's media wing said.
Inter Services Public Relations said the Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff was given a briefing at the headquarters on the SSG's specialised training, operational preparedness and mission-oriented readiness.
He laid a wreath at the Shuhada Monument and paid tribute to SSG personnel who gave their lives in the line of duty, according to ISPR. Minute Mirror described the same ceremony as a floral wreath at the martyrs' monument.
The reports placed the visit in different places. Two Dawn reports said the SSG headquarters was in Turbat. Minute Mirror reported that the visit took place at the SSG headquarters in Tarbela.
Minute Mirror, which described the SSG as an elite force, also reported that Munir watched demonstrations of advanced specialised equipment and combat exercises showing the force's agility and precision in special missions, and that he met officers and soldiers and praised their professionalism and morale. The Dawn reports did not carry those details.
Munir said continuous training, stronger indigenous defence capability and the highest standards of operational preparedness were needed to stay ahead of emerging security challenges, according to ISPR.
Minute Mirror said the visit came amid continued security challenges in the country, and reported that it followed Munir's trip to Corps Headquarters Peshawar last month, where he was briefed on the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, counterterrorism operations and border management.
Neither account said which specific threats the force was preparing for, and ISPR did not release further details of the briefing.
How the reports differ
Dawn's two reports placed the SSG headquarters in Turbat, while Minute Mirror placed the visit at the SSG headquarters in Tarbela. Minute Mirror alone reported that Munir watched equipment and combat demonstrations and met officers and soldiers, and that the visit followed his briefing at Corps Headquarters Peshawar last month. Ua.News carried a headline saying Munir had discussed the security situation with a Chinese official, a subject the other reports did not mention.
