FIA, NAB and CDA issue notices to Fazl's family and aides
Opposition leaders met at the JUI-F chief's Islamabad house the same day to discuss emergency and governor's rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The National Accountability Bureau has summoned Asad Mahmood, a former federal minister for communications and a son of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, over appointments at the Pakistan Post Office, The Express Tribune reported.
The bureau's Rawalpindi office directed him to appear before its investigation team on November 10, 2026, according to the report.
The NAB notice says the Establishment Division had authorised recruitment against 3,938 posts at the Pakistan Post Office, but 4,252 people were appointed. The inquiry also flags appointments against 2,646 posts that had been abolished, which the bureau describes as a violation of cabinet committee directives. NAB says that although contractual hiring through a testing agency was recommended, a large number of permanent appointments were made, adding a financial burden to the department.
The Express Tribune reported that the FIA and the Capital Development Authority had separately issued notices to Amanullah, a close associate of the JUI-F chief and the owner of the Islamabad house where Fazlur Rehman lives. The paper said the inquiries involve alleged financial irregularities, illegal construction and recruitment violations, without setting out which notice rests on which allegation.
Pakistan Connect led its report with a different name, saying in its headline that the FIA had tightened its scrutiny of JUI-F leader Kamran Murtaza in what it called a major corruption scandal. The report available to this newspaper carried no allegation or figure against Murtaza, and The Express Tribune's account did not name him.
On Wednesday, opposition leaders met at Fazlur Rehman's residence in Islamabad to discuss "the situation of emergency and governor's rule" in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the JUI-F said in a statement issued at night.
According to the statement, those attending included Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, the opposition leader in the Senate, and key leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. The statement gave no account of any decision taken at the meeting.
The reports carried no response from Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Asad Mahmood, Amanullah or Kamran Murtaza to the notices, and no statement from the federal or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments on the meeting.
How the reports differ
The Express Tribune led with the cluster of notices against Maulana Fazlur Rehman's family and associates, naming Amanullah as the recipient of the FIA and CDA notices and carrying the NAB notice's recruitment figures for the Pakistan Post Office. Pakistan Connect led instead with JUI-F leader Kamran Murtaza, saying in its headline that the FIA had tightened its scrutiny of him in what it called a major corruption scandal. The Express Tribune's account did not name Murtaza, and the Pakistan Connect report as available carried no allegation or figure against him.
