The finance ministry says Rs104 billion in low-cost housing loans have been disbursed under the Prime Minister's Apna Ghar programme up to 30 October 2026, and that the money has reached 17,697 households. Disbursement under the scheme has passed the Rs100 billion mark, according to the figures the ministry released.

The ministry put the value of approved loans at Rs533 billion, meaning that of the credit sanctioned so far, Rs104 billion had been paid out by 30 October. It said 220,715 applications had been received and 90,405 approved, an approval rate of 41 per cent.

Disbursement rose 404 per cent from June 2026, climbing from Rs21 billion to Rs104 billion. The value of approved loans rose 269 per cent over the same six months, from Rs144 billion to Rs533 billion.

The ministry said the programme had recorded its largest expansion in low-cost housing credit in the six months since its formal launch. It said the scheme's pledges were now producing results on the ground, and that the gap between a sanctioned loan and a finished home was narrowing for applicants.

June 2026 is the baseline from which the ministry measured both increases, and the disbursement and approval figures run to 30 October 2026.

The ministry released the figures in a written statement on the Apna Ghar programme.

Express News reported the finance ministry's Apna Ghar figures, which the UrduPoint report did not mention.
