British Council, P@SHA hold Gilgit roundtable on digital jobs
The meeting at Serena Hotel Gilgit was held under an EU-funded TVET programme and focused on employability for women and young people in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The British Council and the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) held a roundtable conference in Gilgit on expanding digital employment and improving graduate employability in Gilgit-Baltistan, with women and young people named as the focus, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported on 4 November.
The meeting took place at the Serena Hotel in Gilgit under the European Union-funded Team Europe TVET Sector Support Programme, according to the state news agency, which filed the report from Gilgit under the byline Sultan Shoaib. APP did not give the date of the meeting, describing it only as having been held "the other day", and published no attendance figures.
Representatives of the government, academic institutions and the information technology sector took part, APP reported. The dispatch identified participants by category only. It named no attendee, no speaker and no government department, and carried no quotation from anyone present.
P@SHA is the industry body that represents Pakistan's software houses and IT companies. The programme named as the funding umbrella takes its title from technical and vocational education and training, the skills stream the European Union supports in Pakistan.
APP described the purpose of the roundtable as promoting digital employment opportunities and improving graduate employability, "particularly among women and young people in Gilgit-Baltistan".
The report did not say what the roundtable concluded, whether any training scheme, funding line or hiring commitment was announced, or what the partners intend to do next. No cost figure, timeline or target number of beneficiaries was given.
Gilgit is the capital of Gilgit-Baltistan. The roundtable is the latest of several donor-funded skills and employment events the region's administration and outside partners have publicised, though the APP dispatch gave no figure for how many graduates the province's universities turn out each year or how many find work in the IT sector.
