LHC rejects foreign ministry report on two PTI workers held in UAE
The court summoned the official handling the file after finding the ministry's response fell short of its September 14 order to decide the representations within 15 days.

Lahore: The Lahore High Court on Thursday called the Foreign Ministry's report on two Pakistani citizens held in the United Arab Emirates unsatisfactory and summoned the official dealing with the file to the next hearing.
Both detainees, Syed Salman Raza Zaidi and Muhammad Junaid Jahangir, are affiliated with the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Dawn reported.
The court had already set deadlines in the case. On September 14 it directed the foreign secretary to process and decide within 15 days the representations filed about the two detentions. On October 22 it issued notices to the foreign secretary while hearing two contempt petitions arising from the same matter.
Thursday's order came after the ministry's report was placed before the court, which did not accept it. The court directed the relevant official to appear before it on the next date.
Dawn's account did not name the official summoned and did not give a date for the next hearing.
A contempt petition is filed when a party argues that a court order has not been complied with. The two before the high court concern the September 14 direction to the foreign secretary to decide the representations about the Zaidi and Jahangir detentions.
